Intellectual Property Theft

Would you do business with criminal?

Do you trust someone that steals?

You would be shocked to find out how many unprofessional business out there are too stingy to pay to have someone create a logo for them so they just STEAL someone else’s logo. In our case over 70 individual have stolen our logo to user as an image on their website or even as their business logo, most of these so call businesses are actually based in the US. Some even claim to be security Companies and security consultants.

If you see this exact logo on any website except securityitrust.com then you are more then likely look at that website of some one who has no regard for copyright.

Logo stolen form Security I Trust

Logo stolen form Security I Trust

From our investigation in to this we are shocked at the unprofessional claim and action from US individuals regarding the unauthorized use of our logo:

  • We were you partner and did business together in the past so I taught I could use you logo. This was just lies as the person never worked with us.
  • You gave me permission 7 year ago to user it. Again another lie
  • I taught that all images you find using a search engine are free for anyone to do what they like with.
  • It did not have a big copyright disclaimer wrote across it, so I taught it was ok to use.
  • It’s not a great logo so why do you care about it. If this individual taught it was not so great then why did he user is on his website.
  • I now have a sour feeling towards you but I will remove the logo form my site. So this person thinks that we should be worried that he is unhappy because we identified the stolen content on his website.
  • But the one the really hits the nail on the head is a US company offering to help people with Intellectual Property, and identity protection – they are using this stolen logo on their home page.

I could go on but it’s a disgrace the comments, lies and excuses we are receiving form US individuals. Regards other countries where we contacted website owners some replies with a simple apology, and other just removed the log.

At no time, since the date this logo was created did we give any individual or business the right to use any of our logo.

7 Mounts after we started our investigation in this copyright violation and still on going. What started out as 2 case of logo theft quickly turned out to be 41 cases. But by December we had identified over 100 cases.
We were shocked to see the number of small security based business (primarily in the US) that had no regards for copyright content and were using our logo for as their business logo or as content on their website. Not even one US based company apologies for the incorrect use of our logo. A large percentage removed the logo after our first communicate, some tried to claim they designed it, and other just failed to acknowledge the fact that we were alerting them to this copyright violation.
After taking action to the next level most US based companies involved in the copyright violation case did respond, some remove the logo, other tried to fight back with false claim that they had permission form “Security I Trust” to use the logo for their own purpose, or we were a business partner and they taught this gave us the right to use the logo. How can you be a business partners with a company you never did any business with? It a joke and just show how low some business will go to cover up when they are found out.
It just shocking to see how unprofessional some business are, they get discovered for copy right violation and instead of just saying sorry and removing the copyright violation content they try to make false claim to cover up the fact they simply stolen the copyright content, or gained the copyright content from a source that was responsible for the copyright theft.

Outside the US the two other regions that were discovered to be in high number regarding this copyright violation case; they are the UK and India. In India we traced this copyright violation back to what appears to be fake security companies, and it the UK we identified that main sites behind this copyright violation were all trying to use our logo to falsely convince their customers that their website was secure (This is false because our logo is not a guarantee that a website is secure).
One social networking website is a complete disgrace. They try to appear as a procession organisation taken copyright seriously by providing their user with an option to report other user who are displaying content that is a copyright violation. But this “Report Copyright Violation” option appears to be a fake, just there to give their user a false sense that they actually care about copyright violation on their site. We have tested this option by reporting copyright violation regard 3 user profile on several stages during the last 6 mounts and ZORO action was taken by the site, and they never responded back regarding any reported case.

This case just show how difficult it is for any business to protect their logos, as well as how difficult it is to trace down and take action against the offender that simple think they can steal logos form other sites across the internet. From what we have learned through this investigation we plan to use this knowledge to help others investigate and track down business and individual that are too stingy to pay for a logo so they just steal one instead.

From Today Image Crawling result we have identified 36 case when a logo matching this copyright violation case is present:

Many of the that were discovered were even IT Security companies, or providing IT security service. After a lot of chasing most of these companies removed the logo they were illegally displaying on their website. Only a very small number of website owner actually apologies, were other were unhappy that we had managed to identify and prove they had stolen our logo.

The investigation is still going on. Form a review on 4-Nov-2014 we still see that there is still a large number of website owners that haven’t removed the logo from their website even through the have been made aware this this is a case of Intellectual Property Theft.

Here is a copy of what we discovered from simply doing a Google image search.

10 July 2014 As we keep going deeper into this case on Intellectual Property Theft we have now identified 65 sources on the internet that contain this stolen logo. Less than 5 website owner have apologized for the unauthorized use of this logo. But many website owners and business are failing to report, until they realize that we are serious about getting local law enforcement involved.

30 July 2014 Still working on this case. Still less than 5 website owners have apologised for the logo theft. Even though we have been contact website owners most are so unprofessional that that still display the stolen logo on their website.
